A fourteen-year old motorbiker from Lincolnshire lost out this weekend on the title of Aprilia Superteen.
Lee-Bob Jackson, from North Kesteven School, raced into second place at Rockingham, only four points behind his biggest rival, Wayne Ryan, who was in 10th place. At the start of the final round, Lee-Bob had been behind Wayne by 44 points.
Devastatingly, with only two laps to go, Lee-Bob crashed out of the race, meaning the title went to Wayne, leaving the teenager ‘upset and diasappointed’.
According to his mum, Sam in today’s Lincolnshire Echo, “He didn’t do anything wrong, he just lost that one race. Heading into the weekend we knew he only had a small chance of winning the championship so to have got so close is an amazing achievement”.
However, not all is lost. The biker is hoping to race in the 125GP series after qualifying and he plans to race full-time next year. All eyes will be on how this pans out for him at his trials next week!
