When you think of World Heritage Sites what comes to mind? The Taj Mahal maybe? The Great Wall of China? Or perhaps, from a more “local” pespective – Stonehenge?
Well the city of Lincoln has been shortlisted, along with 38 other locations in the United Kingdom, to become a World Heritage Site. It will be facing stiff competition from the likes of the scenic Brunel Railway and the historic city of York, the sites will be reviewed and a decision will be made later this year.
I went along to take a look at what the city has to offer and collected a few opinions along the way as to whether Lincoln is deserving of a World Heritage Status.
