Thursday marked the 13th annual World Book Day, celebrated in the UK and Ireland.
The joint initiative between book publishers and retailers is held to celebrate the enjoyment of books and reading, particularly for primary school chidlren.
Children all over the UK are given £1 book tokens to spend on a choice of 11 specially published World Book Day £1 books for the event and schools also hold special events such as allowing pupils to dress up as their favourite book characters.
