Britain is in the running for a medal at the Winter Olympics after Amy Williams set a new track record in the women’s skeleton event.
Williams is currently in the lead at the halfway point by three tenths of a seconds, a considerable time advantage in the skeleton event, after an impressive first round slide of 53.83 seconds.
Fellow British teammate Shelley Rudman is currently seventh in position, despite having a rather messy slide in the first round.
Event favourite Melissa Hollingsworth, of Canada is currently in third position, almost 0.39 seconds behind Williams.
The third and fourth round of the skeleton take place tonight at 11.40 pm British time.
