Tomorrow marks the start of Visit Lincolnshire Weekend, with many tourism attractions across the county opening their doors for free to visitors and tourists. The aim of the weekend is to promote increase tourism and let people know what there is to do in the county.
With attractions ranging from Lincoln Cathedral to Lincoln Castle, and The Museum Of Lincolnshire Life to Burgh Le Marsh Windmill open for free or at a reduced price, there is something for everyone.
Many tourism attractions in Lincoln expect above average attendance figures, with Alex Shimmel from Lincoln Cathedral advising visitors to book early for their roof and tower tours since they are predicted to sell out well in advance.
Elsewhere, Lincoln Castle has live archery displays, combat re-enactments and guided tours.
City Vibe’s Jonathan Holmes went to the Bailgate area of the city on a tour of some of the attractions open this weekend to find out more, and he started out at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, speaking to guide Theresa Workman
