Preparations are well underway for The Lincoln Fashion Week taking place on May 10 to 17.
The annual event will be themed on the 200th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s birth, and will focus on Victorian themed fashion and entertainment.
The finale will be hosted in Lincoln Cathedral and will showcase models wearing the themed fashion, make-up, shoes and accessories on a large catwalk show. Costs start from £10 for admission. It will be hosted by Radio Lincolnshire presenters Scott Dalton and Carla Green.
The organisers, Lincoln Business Improvement Group, are advertising for models to take part in this year’s show and applications are running until February 17.
Michael Armstrong, events manager at Lincoln BIG said: “We are already thinking about different ways in which people and businesses can get involved, from potential sponsors to models.”
It has been announced that a portion of the profits made from the finale, as well as throughout the week will go to the official charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support.
Other events lined up for the week include vintage fairs, fashion showcases and previews from big name brands such as New Look and Top shop. As well as events hosted in headline sponsors St Marks Retail Park and The Waterside Shopping Centre.
Last year’s theme was RAF based, celebrating the 100th anniversary of its formation. The profits went to Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and the catwalk was hosted at the Alive Church in Newland.
