Almost 100 people enjoyed a toe-tapping evening when the Ukulele Orchestra of Spalding performed at the town’s Broad Street Methodist Church.

The 32-member band were joined by local celebrity Pavanotti as they showcased their talents.

The evening was held to raise funds for the annual Spalding Flower Parade.

Special invitees and reigning flower queens Rebecca Roberts and Demi Fontaine were delighted to attend the music evening on November 2. They received an admirable donation at the end of the evening of £805.

Orchestra spokesperson Debbie Cooper said: “It’s important that we do our part in raising money towards the £50,000 needed to put on the annual parade – it’s a part of our history.”

The Flower Parade was reborn in 2023 after it was stopped in 2013 after 55 years.
