The Thor’s Tipi bar is set to return to LincolnĀ for the Christmas period after signing a three year deal with the city.
The Viking inspired bar, which is currently being constructed, will open to the publicĀ on Friday November 9th on CornhillĀ and will stay openĀ until the end ofĀ December. Preparations for the opening have taken just over a week, with construction beginning last Thursday.
The three yearĀ deal that has been signedĀ willĀ mean that the bar will become an annual attraction in Lincoln until 2020.
Speaking to Lincoln Big, the organisers say they are excited to be back in Lincoln once again.
Maia Farrugia, Co-Founder of Thor’s said: “Our first year in Lincoln was a hugely successful one with thousands of shoppers, families and visitors coming to soak up the atmosphere, so we are thrilled that Lincoln has invited us back, not just for this year but until 2020.”
This is the second year it has opened in the cityĀ after more than 30 thousand people visited the bar last year.
Residents of LincolnĀ can enjoy a luxury and warming atmosphere with wooden benches, cosy furs and an open fire pit. Along withĀ festive favourites such as hot cider and mulled wine a new cheese cave will be serving grilled cheese sandwiches to the public this year.
Many new drinks have been added to the menu including flavoured hot chocolates and alcoholic shotsĀ such as Salted Karamel Vodka or Rhum Orange which can be added to the drinks.
Michael Armstrong, Lincoln BIG’s Events and Promotions ManagerĀ said: “The bar was so well received last year that we are bringing it back bigger and better than before.”
“It isĀ an important part of the festive season because it’s something different and is right in the city centre.”
Lincoln Big have recently announced that the Moroccan market that was due toĀ open later this monthĀ has been cancelled. They say the cancellation is due to the short notice and lack of time for traders to come to Lincoln and showcase their crafts. The Moroccan market would of taken place in the former Ruddock’s of Lincoln shop on the High Street, selling ceramics, wood, metal and leather products.
The public will be able to visit the bar between 12pm and 10pm Sunday to Thursday and 12pm to 11pm on Friday and Saturday.
