Last Wednesday the University of Lincoln hosted a community book swap event, taking place in the Atrium.
The day was intended to allow staff and students to come and either swap their old books for ones on display, or make a small donation to buy one.
Dave Pritchard, Staff and Student Communications Manager for the University of Lincoln, helped organize the event. He spoke to LSJ news to explain the idea:
“What might be a book that’s been lying around somebody’s house, gathering dust, could be the book that influences somebody to really kick start their reading for the rest of their lives.”
The day was supported by staff and students donating books to be available to swap. Stalls available on the day were provided by the university’s unions as well as other departments.
The money generated went towards the university’s chosen charities.
