Today at the newly unveiled Bomber Command memorial the hunt is on for a veteran’s missing medals.
Donald Nicholson, 93, is thought to have lost them at a ceremony last Friday.
After a campaign on social media a sizeable group of enthusiasts with metal detectors gathered at two o’clock today to try and find the medals.
They include the Bomber Command Clasp, the 39-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal and the Victory Medal.
