A flash mob is taking place on Saturday, February 9th, 2013 to celebrate the passing of the Same Sex Marriage Bill.
The flash mob, which is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, will take place at the top of Steep Hill at 1:30pm.
Attendees will then march down the hill and through the High Street, before heading to the university.
The bill, which was voted in favour by The Commons on Tuesday, will now give gay couples the right to marry in a civil ceremony.
The final result of the votes was 400 to 175. The Conservative Party was divided in opinion with 127 Tory MPs in support, while 136 opposed it, including Lincoln Conservative MP Karl McCartney.
Prime Minister David Cameron described the move as “an important step forward”.
