Students at the University of Lincoln have been taking part in events throughout this week in order to raise money for six different charities.
‘RAG’ (Raise and Give) week has become an annual tradition at the University as a dedicated society of 20 students arranged various activities including a pirate treasure trail, a rubber duck race on the Brayford and a 12-hour stint sitting in boxes for Lincolnshire Trust for Cats (pictured left).
RAG president Philly Hiskett, 20, told Siren FM, “They are all good charities voted for by students. It’s been really good and the biggest team we’ve had for several years now.
“We had to submit all of the events and selected charities before the earthquake disaster in Haiti, so we haven’t been able to include anything for that. We haven’t got a specific event lined up at the moment but we’re hoping to do something soon.”
The money donated throughout the week will also go towards Cancer Research, Whizz Kids, AIDS charity Positive Health, The Nomad Trust and Help for Heroes.
