Local protesters for the Veolia waste plant on Long Leys Road believe there are other locations that could be considered for the companies transfer site.
Plans were rejected by Lincolnshire County Council last week after a petition against the site received over 600 signatures and numerous verbal complaints.
Noise pollution, smell and increased traffic were some of the reasons that residents were against the site.
The man behind the petition, Emile van der Zee said: “Veolia were invited to meetings with local residents but they didn’t show up, although they did have a public consultation a few days before the planning hearing was going to take place.”
Although residents were against the site, they are in favour of recycling.
