Woolsthorpe Manor near Grantham in Lincolnshire is celebrating British Science Week with a pop-up planetarium event being held this weekend.
British Science Week is a celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths which runs across the UK for 10 days annually.
To coincide with Woolsthorpe Manor’s theme ‘space’, they are hosting pop-up planetarium shows at Colsterworth Village Hall, which is located walking distance from the manor’s ticket office.
During the shows, a short film called ‘We Are Astronomers’ will be projected onto a spherical mirror which will then appear on the dome inside the inflatable planetarium, all provided by the University of Leicester.
The film is narrated by ex-Time Lord David Tennant and runs at hourly slots on Saturday and Sunday at 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Tickets for the shows are available online or at Woolsthorpe Manor ticket office for £5.
Visitors can also purchase tickets to explore the farmhouse where Isaac Newton was born, see his famous apple tree and view Newton’s experiments in the Science Discovery Centre.
General admission to the site is £9.20 for adults and £4.60 for children, last entry is 4:30pm.
