Tomorrow at 1’o clock a vigil will be taking place at a local Lincoln mosque in solidarity for the Muslim community who may be feeling unsafe, after the terror attack that took place last week.

Prior to the vigil that will be taking place tomorrow, a placard making event took place this evening from 6-8pm with volunteers at Mansions of the Future on St Mary’s Street in Lincoln, who offered the space in exchange for volunteer work.

Tomorrow’s vigil will be held in solidarity for Muslims everywhere and a way for members of the public to show support towards Lincoln’s Muslim community.

The campaign ‘We Stand Together’ was created by Amber Marshall a University of Lincoln student who organised the vigil. Amber who was previously known as the creator of the ‘Lincoln Girl Gang’ Facebook group and is very known campaigner at the university.

The We Stand Together event will be held in remembrance of the mass shooting that happened at two Christchurch mosques in New Zealand last week that killed 50 people. Due to this terror attack, Amber realised that the Muslim community may be feeling scared or frightened during their prayers, therefore she decided to create this event which generated a very positive response from the public.
