Only an extra-time goal stopped Lincoln earning 3 points.
The Imps started brightly and enjoyed much of the opening possession but were unable to create any real threat against play-off chasing Kidderminster.
The first chance of the game came for the Harriers as Daniel Bradley’s shot from 25 yards forced Anyon to tip the ball over for a corner.
City responded well to the pressure and pushed forward with Almond and Louis linking well together.
Almond earned a free kick on the left flank in the 20th minute which he took responsibility for and crossed the ball into the area. The ball was allowed to reach Jefferson Louis who easily nodded it past Breedon to make it 0-1 Imps. Louis has now scored 2 goals in as many games.
The game seemed to come to a deadlock in mid-field with neither team pushing to many men forward. Both teams seemed happy to contain rather than attack.
Kidderminster looked to start applying the pressure 10 minutes before the break as Marvin Johnson’s shot from 20 yards flew narrowly wide of Joe Anyon’s left post.
The home team looked to end the first half on a high, as they earned themselves a corner in stoppage time which eventually came to nothing.
Lincoln got the second half underway but were put on the back-foot straight away as Jamile Matt headed wide from 8 yards out.
The game again became very stifled as neither team looked willing to press forward.
Kidderminster continued to try their luck from range, as Ryan Rowe’s shot from 25 yards had Anyon scrambling, only for him to watch it go wide.
The home side had a great chance to level the score in the 83rd minute when a cross from Lee Hendrie reached Ryan Rowe’s head only for him to put it well wide.
City continued to hold firm however as the game drew to a close, and it looked Lincoln would take home 3 points.
Three minutes stoppage time were added and Lincoln looked like they would take home 3 points.
But Lincoln couldn’t hold on to their lead in the last 10 seconds as substitute Steve Guinan received the ball on the edge of the area and buried it into the bottom of the Imps goal.
Lincoln will feel that their hard work will have been undone with only 10 seconds left to play, but they provided a good performance against a team who are 10 places higher and are contesting for a promotion spot.
Lincoln’s next game is at home against AFC Telford who are just one place behind the Imps.
