The newly built Heritage Skills Centre isn’t meant to be opening its doors officially until early next year but today it put on a special one-off class teaching the traditional craft of stain glass making.
This class isn’t just for anyone though. It’s for a group of 16 to 23 year olds who are Not in Employment Education or Training or NEETs.
The workshop was organised by the Prince’s Trust. The charity aims to help those who don’t have any qualifications. Craig Wallace was one of the students taking part in the workshop and he said:
“I never thought about it to be honest but I find it really relaxing”
Tutors hoped to give students an insight into little known areas of work, as well as teach them new skills to make sure Lincolnshire’s heritage lives on.
