Climate change is an issue that affects everyone and everything. The City of Lincoln Council are hosting a conference, uniting with several organisations, local and global to lower Lincoln’s carbon footprint.

There are several methods being presented to help aid this cause. One of the key moves the council has made is introducing a hybrid bus services reducing fuel consumption around the county.

The public can do their part by walking or taking public transport instead of driving their own vehicles. Electric pumps for alternate powered cars have been distributed around Lincoln giving people the opportunity to purchase an electric car and actually be able to charge it.

Andrew Harrison Chair of Transition Lincoln warned ‘We only have twenty years to turn this around’.

Guest speakers include Julian Patrick the CEO of Freewatt Renewable Energy and Steff Wright the chairman of gusto Group. Speeches and workshops kept guests at the conference enlightened and up to date with current climate issues and the best ways to reduce emission levels.

Chris Burke a member of the city of Lincoln Council claimed ‘We plan to exceed the national expectations’. It’s not just Lincolnshire but the whole country trying to reduce the level of carbon emissions produced.
