Guesthouses and B&Bs in Lincoln are making their final preparations ready to welcome visitors back after a long wait.
May 17 will mark the reopening of hospitality venues, according to the government’s roadmap plan.
The Poplars Boutique B&B, located close to Lincoln Cathedral, is among those planning to reopen on the day.
Owner Martin Czimmerl used the lockdown period to carry out work on the B&B.
He said: “We have done quite a lot of work to the outside while we have been able to do that, while we have had no guests.”
Mr Czimmerl feels that the period has given him the chance to reflect.
“We have obviously been thinking about changing things because it has given us a chance to step backwards and think how could we make our offering better.”
Although he admits that there have been some fears surrounding the reopening.
He said: “All these things that we have been thinking about, are we physically going to be able to put them into practice by May 17, so there was a bit of apprehension.”
They have also put the appropriate safety measures in place ahead of the day, including hand sanitisers, PPE, and Test and Trace, according to Mr Czimmerl.
