On the anniversary of 9/11 a Lincolnshire youth was found in possession of a pipe-
bomb, hidden in his house.
Michael Taylor, of St Peter’s Avenue, Lincoln, was spotted in his local library researching terrorist attacks, explosives and the IRA.
Lincolnshire based youth Taylor, 20, was arrested after a pensioner saw his internet search in their local library, which sparked a major terrorism alert. Residents on his street had to be evacuated as experts from the Counter Terrorism Command raided the youth’s home.
Lincoln Crown Court heard Taylor had no links to terrorism or extremist groups and was guilty of only a ‘schoolboy interest in blowing things up.’
Taylor was given a three year community order with supervision.
