Britain’s first outdoor augmented reality missions are to be launched in Lincoln next month.
The missions, designed by Tension Group, allow players to uncover clues and complete certain tasks to finish.
The public will be asked to solve tasks as a group, such as riddles, to progress through the mission.
Players will use high precision GPS tracking and other technical gadgets to help them through.
Simon Adderley, CEO of Tension Group, said: “The concept is to take the Escape experience outdoors to embrace the streets and buildings of our beautiful city.
“These new missions will be very exciting and are completely entwined in our city’s character.”
Two missions, Operation Mindfall and Magic Portal, will be available to play in groups of two to six people.
Operation Mindfall will have players finding an antidote to stop a terrorist group called Spider Tech who are unleashing a virus that infects the human brain.
Magic Portal allows players solve riddles in order to find a portal to another dimension filled with evil creatures wanting to come through.
Tension Group are also launching an indoor augmented reality mission.
All three missions are about understanding Lincoln’s history and the people who have impacted the city.
