A politics student from the University of Lincoln has won the Lincoln heat of the Chortle Student Comedy Award.
Jessica Williams competed in the Chortle Student Comedy Award, a UK-wide stand-up comedy competition for university students.
The heat rounds started on February 8 in Reading and finish at East London QMUL on March 16. The winner of each heat is guaranteed a place in the semi-finals at The Bill Murray in London in May. After the semi-finals, finalists will take part in the Latitude Festival, then the winner will be crowned at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This year’s grand prize is all expense paid two-week comedy circuit in Australia.
The Chortle Student Comedy Award has been a starting place for comedians such as Phil Wang and Iain Stirling.
