Lincoln Monks Abbey Primary School is amongst thousands of schools across the country planning for the worst as cases of Coronavirus increase across the UK.
The school has developed a two-step plan to combat the effect that closures could have on children, including independent learning materials.
Children will be provided with exercise books and worksheet folders to complete, as well as personal login details to online resources.
Monks Abbey has also reached an agreement with the local Co-operative store that children eligible for free school meals will be able to use vouchers for food should the government enforce a lockdown.
Headteacher, Victoria Johnson, says that the agreement is important to help families manage: “As many as half of our students are eligible for free school meals, so it is important to reduce the financial burden closures might pose.”
The school also plans to maintain daily contact with vulnerable students to ensure their safety.
