Hundreds of people are expected to take part in a torchlight procession to remember friends and families who have passed away.
This is part of an annual event held by St Barnabas Hospice known as ‘Light Up A Life’. It gives an opportunity for people from Lincoln to come together and reflect on moments spent with loved ones- as well as support the hospice.
People will be invited to light candles and write messages which will be put onto the Tree of Life. The lights on the tree are symbolic of the hundreds of loved ones people are there to remember.
Sam Waterer, a fundraiser St Barnabas, said: “It’s a way of giving back to the community. We’re all in the same boat where we can spent time to reflect and remember.”
The event will start at 6:00 pm at Clayton’s Sport Ground and will then follow a pipe band past the hospice and up to the Cathedral, where a ‘Tree of Life’ will be lit-up. There will also be a service in the Cathedral afterwards.
