Lincoln is alight with festive spirit

St Marks Shopping Centre kicked off the return of the festive season on Friday with its Christmas light switch on.

The evening was hosted by Lincs FM DJ John Marshall and included children’s entertainment from Mr Shiney and live music from a Spice Girls tribute act.

The lights were turned on by all of the acts and that performed and also Cinderella and Prince Charming from the Lincoln Drill Hall’s panto.

On duty paramedic Sandra Pedison said: “I love the Christmas light switch on, I love seeing the kids faces light up when the lights turn on.”

There was also a light switch on on the High Street hosted by BBC Radio Lincolnshire presenters Scott Dalton and Su Whitaker. The event included live performances and a the Salvation Army Band.

Visitors were treated to free parking across the city as well as late night shopping on the High Street.

This week Lincoln residents can delve into more festive spirit when Santa’s reindeer take time out of their busy schedule to parade up Lincoln High Street.
