The festive spirit has officially arrived in Lincoln.
The cities Christmas lights were switched on at Lincoln High Street and St Marks Shopping Centre last weekend.
Lincs FM’s John Marshall presented the light switch on in St Marks, with entertainment including a Spice Girls tribute act, Cinderella and Prince Charming from this year’s Lincoln Drill Hall pantomime, as well as children’s entertainer Mr Shiney.
Mr Shiney brought laughter and smiles with his magic tricks and finished his act saying: ” I really am excited this year it feels like a family Christmas.”
BBC Radio Lincolnshire presenter’s Scott Dalton and Su Whitaker hosted the High Street Light switch on, hundreds swarmed to see the lights be switched on.
There were performances by entertainers Ady Lee and Peter Brown as well as a live performance by the Salvation Army Band.
The Mayor of Lincoln and councillor Sue Burke were joined by former Blue Peter presenter Barney Harewood and ITV’s The Vice star Zoe Hedge joined together to press the button that switched on the lights!
