For the second successive year, Lincoln house owners face the prospect of paying more council tax.
This comes after City of Lincoln approved a 1.91% increase in their portion of council tax for the 2016/2017 financial year at a meeting of the executive on 25th January.
The council however only keeps 16% of collected tax, with the rest going to Lincoln County Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner.
When asked about the reason behind the rise, Councillors cited “unprecedented financial challenges” follow George Osborne’s Spending Review in November 2015.
The rise will go out for consultation until Monday February 15th, prior to going before full council on March 1st for approval.
