Lincoln City are hoping to bounce back with a win against Braintree Town this weekend after last week’s defeat at Kettering.
The game is likely to see the Imps showing off their new signings and with top goal scorer Sam Smith and winger Francis Laurent out of action with injury the stage is set for the new stars. Manager David Holdsworth will be hoping for new signing and new target man Jefferson Louis to have an impact on the game, having hit the net 18 times already this season.
Holdsworth commented on Louis saying; “he’s a strong man but certainly not a slouch. If you get labelled that as a big target man you’ve got no pace but the guys got a lot about him and the dressing room will be a lively place with him in.”
Braintree are going into the game with confidence after their victory over nine-man Barrow last weekend but this victory was their first in six games. So this will be a good chance for the Imps to test them.
Lincoln currently sit 16th in the league whereas Braintree sit higher up the league in 11th. A win for Lincoln would keep them in 16th but they could have a five point buffer between them and Darlington, Telford, Stockport and Kettering who all have 28 points going into the weekend.
The game will kick off at 3pm tomorrow at Sincil Bank Stadium.
