Following the outbreak of COVID-19 – commonly known as Coronavirus – the Premier League, Football Association, English Football League and Women’s Super League have decided to suspend all matches until April 3rd.
Given the rising number of players, coaches and staff displaying symptoms, and with several teams deciding to self-isolate, the decision was taken by the Football League to postpone all competitions – Championship, League One and League Two as well as youth games – until the threat of the pandemic decreases.
An EFL statement is also recommending clubs to put on hold any non-essential travel and activities as a way of containing the spread of the virus.
With the decision, this weekend’s Lincoln City match away at Tranmere Rovers is postponed and the club announced it has informed all players and staff to avoid any contact with the supporters.
