“A better internet is up to us” that’s the message of today’s safer internet day.
The day is being celebrated in over a hundred countries and aims to promote the safe and responsible use of the internet and other technology for young people.
The campaign is supported by the European commission and thirty one safer internet centers across Europe.
Mark Smith, head of security at the University of Lincoln, explained in an interview that the best ways to stay safe online are to be “careful what you put on social media, watch out for phishing emails and keep your devices up to date. Those are the three big things students can do to stay safe online”.
