The Scottish filmmaker tells the story of a trans woman named Natalie portrayed by Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones) who ventures back to her hometown after the death of her father, but will her prejudiced family be willing to accept her?
This five minute Austrian short film from director, Scheufler Paul explores whether love is bitter, sour, or salty. Paul triumphantly creates an internal exploration of the soul in a short amount of time. For this reason, it is a must see in the festival.
3. The Sad Monk
Female director, Diana Frankovic transports audiences to Nepal for this twelve minute film that sees a monk begin to question the meaning of life, and whether he has made the correct choices in life. This short film resonates universally with audiences and will bring tears to your eyes.
4. Stare Into the Lights My Pretties
This documentary feature film from American filmmaker, Jordan Brown takes a look into the way society has evolved with technology and the screens that have taken over our lives. Questioning whether staring into these screens will one day benefit or hinder us is a scary thought, and this documentary is just as intense as any film released in the horror genre.

5. Oma
Oma focuses on a PhD graduate who, in order to complete her final thesis must acquire a testimony from her grandmother regarding the holocaust. However, things don’t go quite to plan in this nine minute film as the grandmother begins to question her granddaughter. This film is both heart-breaking and intense at the same time and should be something you go watch in this year’s festival.
