Greta Thunberg has changed her twitter handle to ‘bunny hugger’ in response to Boris Johnson’s Earth Day Climate Summit speech.
Boris Johnson, the UK’s prime minister, addressed the leaders at yesterday’s Climate Summit discussing the UK’s plans to tackle the ever-increasing climate emergency.
The change to Thunberg’s twitter occurred after Johnson’s speech where he stated:
“I’m not saying any of this is going to be easy. There is obviously going to be a political challenge. It’s important to go back to the original words of President Biden, it’s vital for all of us to show that this is not all about some expensive politically correct green act of ‘bunny hugging’ or however you want to put it.”
Greta Thunberg, environmental activist, has been known for her controversial methods of attracting the attention of leaders and press alike.
She has previously changed her name to ‘Sharon’, and edited her bio to say ‘a teenager working on her anger management problem’ and ‘pirralha’ meaning ‘brat’ in Portuguese.
Thunberg has repeatedly turned the tables on world leaders after being mocked by the likes of Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Brazil’s President, Jair Bolsonaro.
