Frequency Festival is back to brighten Lincoln

Frequency Festival returns for the third year running. The festival will be celebrating digital culture in the city for two weeks until the 26th October.

Last night the festival launched with a party in the Cornhill Square. Projections lit up the surrounding area above the shops and banks in the square.

From today there will be free events across Lincoln everyday. The events range from installations, projections, site specific work, talks and live performances.

Marketing Manager, Kristy Diaz, talked us through the launch event and some of the events to come.

From talking to Kristy it is clear to see that Frequency is a very unique and artistic festival. Siren Reporter Sean Redmond also spoke to the festival director, Barry Hale, he discussed the aim of the festival. He said, “what we’re really hoping is people take a tour of the city and discover things by accident.”

The festival will be taking over the city as Barry explained, “We’ve got 27 to 30 sites across the city, we’re working with some of the heritage spaces and galleries here in town. But, there is also stuff in the streets and shops”.

Most exhibitions will run from 10am to 5pm and you can find them in Cornhill Square, the LPAC centre and many more places.
