The World Cup is due arrive at Lincoln’s Sincil Bank this evening, with a special guest appearance from 1966 World Cup Winner Martin Peters.
Sincil Bank is one of only two stadiums nation wide that the famous World Cup trophy will be show cased – The other stadium is Wemberly. It is part of a world tour of the trophy, in the build up to the World Cup tournament this summer.
Lincoln’s home was chosen as they are the only league side playing a competitive fixture on Friday evening.
Competition winners will have a photo opportunity with the Trophy, following a ticket prize draw.
Lincoln’s home match, against Hereford United, will also show case a memorial for the late Keith Alexander.
