The University of Lincoln’s Enterprise@Lincoln has been holding events all week for Enterprise and Employability Week.
The number of students turning up to the events however wasn’t high. Lincoln News talked to Gina Davies a Graduate Enterprise Intern, asking what they had done to make students aware of the week.
She believes it is hard to communicate with students if they aren’t checking portal messages.
“It’s just general student apathy. I’ve been going out and speaking one to one with people and even that doesn’t get them there sometimes.”
Over the week there was a number of event that students could go along to events and get involved. Enterprise@Lincoln invited a number of industry experts to give presentations on volunteering and social enterprise but the week was also an opportunity for students to find out about other careers including the police force.
The society Deviate was launched last night by President Gina Davies and had a good turn out.
With over two and a half thousand possible student graduates in 2010 and a job market more competitive than ever, students are urged to get as much experience as possible.
