Players for Lincoln Ladies football club are facing stiff competition to keep a place in the team next season, following their ascension to the FA Women’s Super League.
The Super League is the highest division in FA Women’s football and will attract top talent to every team participating. Current Lincoln Ladies players will be hard pressed to keep their spots in the team, competing with the best in the business.
The Lady Imps will be playing against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, and having achieved a consistent record in the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division, they will be expected to perform well by their fans when they start in 2011.
The days of guaranteed playing time are slipping for many of the old star-performers. Christine Diffey spoke to Ella Meadowcroft, a member of the reserves team.
