COVID-19: Effects on the travel industry

COVID-19, also known as coronavirus has temporarily changed the lives of everyone around the world.

On March 23, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson placed new coronavirus restrictions upon the public. These restrictions now mean people are to only leave their homes if they are considered to be a ‘key worker’ (a supermarket worker or NHS staff member) or if they are in need of essential food or medical supplies.

The travel industry has been hit hard as a result of the coronavirus. Planes have been grounded and companies have cancelled holidays and excursions in an aim to help stop the global spread of the virus.
