More than a thousand complaints have been made about used cars sold in Lincolnshire, a representative for
Lincolnshire Trading Standards has said.
As part of their “Check it, Don’t Regret it” campaign, part of National Consumer Week, Lincolnshire Trading Standards and the Citizens Advice Bureau have released a used car advice pack.
The advice pack includes a checklist for buying a used car, instructions on how to check a car’s history, how to check a car’s mileage is genuine and how to check if a car is stolen or still on hire purchase. The pack also suggests that buyers view it in person or take it for a test drive if possible.
Trading Standards recieved over 80,000 complaints regarding used car sales over the last year, 1,034 of them from Lincolnshire.
