In March this year, the British citizenship test will be changed. The new test will include question on all aspects of British life, from comedy and music, to history and science.
Topics in the new test include the achievements of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Winston Churchill’s great speeches and the invention of the hover craft, along with many others.
The change to the Citizenship exam is part of the governments intention to significantly reduce net migration.
Critics of the test such as the Migrants Rights Network have raised concerns that the test identifies elitist views of British history, and is in danger of resembling public school entrance exams.
Hussein Mohamed, a student from the university of Lincoln who recently took the citizenship test told us about his experience.
