Today history has been made in Lincoln.
The winner of the Police Crime and Commissioner officer has been announced as independent candidate Alan Hardwick.
He won with 39,221 votes compared to David Bowles who had 35,086.
The voting went through to the Second Preference vote, after the candidates failed to receive over 50% of the total vote in the first preference.
Both independent candidates Alan Hardwick and David Bowles made it through to the second preference votes with David Bowles winning fractionally with 31.8% of the vote across Lincolnshire in the first round.
Commenting on his win Alan Hardwick said he would be ‘held to account by the public.’
