Lincoln Minster School’s chamber choir will hold their annual winter concert at Lincoln Cathedral this evening.
The event aims to showcase the musical skills of the senior school students at Lincoln Minster, who are aged between eleven and eighteen.
The students will perform pieces that they have chosen to work on throughout the term, and the concert will feature popular music from Game of Thrones and The Great Escape.
Marc Rhodes, the school’s marketing executive, said there will be a wide range of music on display. He said: “We’ve got orchestras, symphonic wind bands and vocal groups performing.
“It’s a chance for the students to display the hard work that they’ve put in, and show off their talents to the public.”
He also explained how the students are inspired by playing at the Cathedral.
“It’s a perfect setting. We have a great relationship with Lincoln Cathedral, and it’s a wonderful opportunity for our students to be able to perform in that type of setting, particularly at such a young age.
“We’re delighted to be able to use the Cathedral as a venue.”
The event starts at 7-30pm. Tickets cost £5 per person, including refreshments, and are available on the door.
