Lincoln Walk in Centre on Monks Road will be reducing its hours in its final weeks before closing.
In the Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group governing body meeting it was discussed that a number of staff have left the centre after it was announced that it was closing in September.
Natalie McKee, head of clinical services for urgent care at Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust said: “Following Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group’s (LWCCG) decision on the future of the Lincoln Walk in Centre in September, our focus has been to ensure we continue to provide excellent, safe care, while supporting the walk in centre team.”
Clinical services have said that they are working closely with the clinical commissioning group during the transitional period as they’ll see a reduction in opening hours in the new year as well as an introduction to bookable appointments. This is so the walk in centre can be safe during peak times.
The monthly governing body meeting decided that the walk in centre will be closely monitored in line with the safer staffing levels which ensures patient safety.
There are also discussions about promoting alternative healthcare services and the Lincolnshire community health services are also looking to explore alternative uses for the building after the closure of the walk in centre.
