The death of education

On Friday Lincoln students are staging another protest against the rise in tutition fees.

The demonstration will mourn the death of education and act as a funeral procession. All attendees will march to the City Hall, dressed in black, where they hope Lincoln MP, Karl McCartney, will get their message.

A nail in the coffin of education.

The protest is intended to be peaceful but powerful, as Mr McCartney is currently supporting the change to student fees.

The Students’ Union, which has organised the protest, is urging people to unite, and describes any vote in support of the government’s plans as “a nail in the coffin of education.”

The SU is treating this as an opportunity to show Lincoln’s MP what students stand for, and have asked that no banners or placards be brought along, so as not to ruin the theme.
