Lincolnshire Police officers have a greater than average use of tasers, according to a new report.
A police legitimacy report published by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) on February 11 stated that there is room for improvement in the force’s use of tasers.
In order to cover the county’s 70 mile area, Lincolnshire Police allow beat police officers to carry tasers unlike other forces that only give tasers to firearms officers. Their approach allows Lincolnshire Police to get a taser to the scene more quickly.
