Lincoln locals and city visitors were treated to a real life rocket man experience on Thursday.

Richard Browning, who is the founder of Gravity Industries and a former British Royal Marine, took flight at around midday.

The spectacle was part of Wilkin Chapman’s ‘Evolve’ event which was promoting the expansion of their Lincoln branch.

Richard flew from the old viewing platform and landed just below the Wigford Way bridge, in front of a crowd of stunned onlookers.

Richard used a high-tech suit with jet engines strapped to his arms to propel him across the skies, reaching speeds of up to 32mph.

Gravity Industries tours across the whole world promoting aeronautical innovation by holding events designed to get young people more interested in STEM subjects.

What was once a science fiction dream, is now a not-too-distant future reality.
