This mass support was echoed throughout the nation with people turning up in the tens of thousands in major towns and cities to voice their right to protest in support of a Free Palestine.

Protesters showed up in the Masses echoing chants of “Free Palestine”  across the nation whilst displaying signs in support of Palistinian Liberation.

A support that was mirrored within Lincoln.

On campus, activists drew a chalk piece of the Palestinian flag on the northeastern wall of the Grand Central Library at the University of Lincoln.

The Mural was surrounded by the quote “Start talking, too many dead” in reference to the 248 Palestinians who were killed, 66 of whom were children.

The piece was up for a few weeks in early March before it was anonymously vandalised and removed.

Brandon Rochester, a Masters Student at the University Of Lincoln, disapproved of the removal of the mural saying:

“Forms of peaceful protests, such as the symbolic illustration of the Palestinian Flag, should never be removed as it communicates a fight for the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and brings awareness to the Palestinian cause”

These protests took place in response to the on-going apartheid ocurring in Israel which has seen the forced displacement of more than 91,000 Palestinians due to Israeli Airstrikes as reported by the UN Office for Coordination of Human Rights (UNOCHA).

In spite of a ceasefire being announced  Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who was present at the London Protests, told the crowd.

“The way forward is quite simply this: the occupation of Palestine must end.”
