Lincoln cab drivers have expressed their disdain at the new mandatory BTEC course they’re being made to take.
The City of Lincoln council are among a few authorities across the country that are enforcing the new license. The course is said to feature modules on health, safety and the safety of passengers.
One cab driver said: “Its a waste of time, a waste of my money, I’m 70, it’s not going to improve the standard of taxi driving, it’s just going to make us lose money.”
Despite the widespread controversy, just about half of the those told to take the exam have already signed up within the first month.
We approached The City of Lincoln council but have yet to receive a response.
