Retailers are struggling to meet demand as Lincoln’s Monopoly board continues to fly off the shelves!
Since its release last month, the popular family board game has proved so popular that Ruddocks of Lincoln have sold out for the third time in a row and have already received hundreds of pre-orders for the next batch which is due on the 28th of this month.
Based on the original game, the board features many Lincoln landmarks starting from the YMCA to the Cathedral. Other destinations include the University of Lincoln, the High Street and, iconic, Steep Hill. However, be careful not to get stuck at the rail crossing where you will face a £200 fine!
Major high street retailers, including Waterstone’s, WH Smith and The Works, have also received a high volume of orders and sales show no signs of wavering any time soon. There have been orders placed from all around the UK, letting everyone explore a little piece of Lincoln’s heritage from the comfort of their own home.
Despite the £24.99 price tag, the game is being described as the perfect present for Christmas.
Tammy Simpson, Assistant Manager at Ruddocks, speaks about why she believes Lincoln’s version of the game is so popular.
