Get festive this Christmas with Lincoln’s virtual Santa Fun Run

As December rolls around and everyone is getting in the Christmas spirit, people in Lincoln are gearing up to take part in this year’s Santa Fun Run which has gone virtual for 2020.

Instead of turning up on a designated day and running the usual 4.6km, participants decide everything.

Runners choose the date in December when they wish to run, the location (as long as it complies with current Government guidelines), and whether they run, walk, push, or crawl.

They can even choose whether to run in chunks over several days as this is an event designed for all ages and all abilities.

Even those who are self-isolating can still take part by walking around their house, upstairs or in the garden.

Places are limited to 1,000 participants and there’s a £10 entry fee for those wishing to take part. Registration closes on 31st December.

The £10 entry fee will get you a Santa outfit, a personal runner’s number, a charity sponsorship form and an information leaflet.

All donations will be given to charities who have helped combat COVID-19 this year.

These include:

Head of the organisation committee, Ray Peters said: “For us it’s such a shame we can’t do this event like normal. We are one of the longest running and largest Santa fun run’s in the world.”

“But we’d like to keep it going as it supports so many great causes and is the start of Christmas for so many people. It’s always lovely to see those laughing, joking people running around having a good time.”
