A plaque was unveiled in Lincoln High Street to celebrate the 200th anniversary of world famous mathematical genius George Boole.
A public talk took place at the University of Lincoln, led by Dr Evgeny Khukhro who explained how Boole’s work contributed to a revolution in our approach to logic.
Every smartphone, computer and tablet owes its existence to George Boole.
The University of Lincoln’s £7m technology centre holds Boole’s name, Lincoln Cathedral has a window dedicated to him, and now the plaque will be the most recent George Boole memorial to be in Lincoln.
